Who should take the Series 6 and Series 63 exams?
Series 6 is the Investment Co./Variable Contracts Rep Exam – It is
administered by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD).
Upon successful completion of the Series 6, you will be qualified to
sell redeemable securities (mutual funds), variable contracts
(variable annuities) as well as insurance premium funding programs
(variable life).
Time Limit – 2 hours and 15 minutes
Number of Questions – 100
Passing Score – 70%
Format – Multiple Choice
Exam Enrollment Fee - $70
Prerequisites – You must be sponsored by a firm that is a member of the NASD or is a Self Regulatory Organization (SRO).

Series 63 is the Uniform Securities Agent Exam (State Law) – It is
administered by the North American Securities Administrators
Association (NASAA). Upon successful completion of the Series 63,
you will have the qualifications necessary to solicit the purchase
or sale of securities within a state. This exam is taken in addition
to the Series 6, however some states may not require this exam.
Time Limit – 1 hour and 15 minutes
Number of Questions – 65
Passing Score – 70%
Format – Multiple Choice
Exam Fee - $82
Forms – You must complete form U-10 if registering as an individual
